This is my second phase with this problem in just a week. annoying glitch

This sounds like a cookie problem to me. It sounds like your cookies might be corrupted , are expiring or are being removed by another source i.e. an add on in Firefox , an extension in Chrome or Edge or some other security software.

Try deleting your cookies to see if this helps.

It keeps logging me out too. The advert at the bottom also keeps making my computer crash.

If you know it's the advert then use an Ad Blocker add on or extension , I use AdBlockPus (ABP )

This constantly happens to me.
I write a long winded OT reply, then it gets lost because I am logged out - EVEN THOUGH I'VE JUST LOGGED IN!
It's infuriating, I suspect it is a server lag issue.

Copy to Clipboard.
Even that does not always work as on occasion the software cancels the post and logs me out mid post.

Then the only guarantee is to paste it into a txt document before posting or type out your posts into a txt document first. This only takes a few clicks more but is the only way to make sure you don't lose any long posts when the website is glitchy.

i use the google chrome extension "lazarus" to save my posts/PMs and have shilled it on here innumerable times before, but i can see it doesn't work for everyone.

I had made several post responses to other today when I got forcibly logged out early this morning while trying to make another one. Had to log back in, but things have been fine since then. Still, it's annoying, as it has happened before a few times. I wasn't doing anything strange at the time, so I don't know what the problem was.
