Logging out involuntarily

I've noticed that I sometimes get logged out involuntarily, for no good reason! What gives?

This has been happening to me constantly for several months now. It happens even when I've checked the box saying "Keep me logged in." I haven't found a cure for it. It's incredibly annoying and I find myself cursing like a sailor nearly all of the time I'm trying to be on this site viewing the discussions and posting.

My theory: the site's software has developed its own AI and is now on a vendetta against chosen members. "BirdInFlight detected, mess with her head, mess with her head, log out, log out, log out!"

It's become HAL 9000 -- I'm expecting to hear "Daisy, Daisy...." anytime now. :mrgreen:

I notice I sometimes get logged out after WP comes back from being down or frozen.

After every 10 or fewer posts, I can count on going to the login screen instead of the page that says my post was successful. Every time, I check the box to log me in automatically.

I use the site on both my laptop and my mobile. The involuntary logouts seem to happen much more often on the laptop.

It is almost impossible to stay logged in when I enter through Post Reply / Quote, i.e., anything except the below process.

I have never had problems staying on when I login through the upper right Register / Login Screen, though. How have the other users on this thread logged in?

I tend to use the dedicated login page, where it says you must be logged in to...

huh. for me, it is the reverse. i've only had consistent problems with suddenly logging out when i was using the laptop away from home. it happened much more often in mexico, where the connection was weaker, than in zagreb where i had a bit stronger connection. it does happen, here, but that is very rare and i am thankful.

:ninja: I figured out I get logged out more if I'm browzing WP when the site crashes or freezes which means I get logged out more if I'm on WP around midnight & I only get logged out on which ever device I was on WP with at the time.

I don't know if this could be related, but I found it interesting in light of the discussion. On my mobile, posts get lost frequently. It looks like I posted successfully, but then it isn't there later. I don't notice this happening on my laptop, where posting sometimes leads to involuntary logout.
