Hello.
i was wondering if anyone had ever taken the anti-histamine Hydroxyzine for anxiety.
As i have read that it can be as effective as benzo's but does not have the problems associated with it
regarding addiction and tolerance.

Thanks

Im not sure but I was recently prescribed it to alleviate some severe itching from bug bites. I think it has caused my current heightened anxiety. Not sure.

I took it before, did absolutely nothing didn't even make me sleepy. I have pretty extreme anxiety however so maybe someone more mild would be helped?

I have taken hydroxyzine up to 100mg a day and I have to say I didn't notice any effect on my anxiety. It did help me sleep and it was an awesome antihistamine for allergies and itching though.

My girlfriend took it for a while to help her sleep & it did help with that as well as with her allergies but she didn't notice an effect on her anxiety. She only took it at night thou so maybe it would of helped if she would of taken it during the day. it also may of contributed to her having some weight gain.
