Here is proof that I am weird:
1. I'm over 200 pounds
2. I play video games but I'm not as good as other female gamers so I have to play on easy mode and avoid online gaming.
3. Sometimes I play as male characters in fighting games
4. I read manga but hardly watch anime
5. I still read books that are young adult fiction
6. I like to write but no one wants to read it
7. I listen to Vocaloid and other bands that aren't One Direction.
8. My hair is frizzy

That is proof that I'm not like normal women. I don't want to change who I am but at the same time I sometimes stand in front of the mirror and talk crap about myself. Am I weird because of these things?

Well, being 200 lbs and having frizzy hair are attributes that you really can't help. You said on another WP forum that you eat healthy, so it's likely that you're just what used to be called "big boned" or "husky". I've known 200 lb women who were really hot, so unless you have huge rolls of fat or something it really isn't something you can help. And some people are just born with frizzy hair, that's why there's all sorts of crazy and expensive chemical treatments like "Brazilian Blowout" that women pay several hundred bucks for so they can have "better" hair.

"Young adult" fiction is a slippery phrase, it can mean anything from the short sci-fi novels meant for young teens to really long, dark trilogies like Hunger Games and The 5th Wave that are meant for older teens and young 20s. I don't know what you're reading.

I never got into video games either because I sucked at them, turns out my fine motor coordination was too bad to play video games. So, I'm a geek who hates gaming.

Most people don't want to read writing that isn't corporate publishing approved. The dirty secret of the big publishing houses is that they have huge staffs of professional writers ("ghostwriters") who write novels based on plots formulated by the bosses, then the company finds somebody, usually the kid of one of the friends of one of the corporate VP's, and puts his/her name on the front cover. It's been revealed that Stephen King, for example, does virtually none of his own writing except for dreaming up plotlines.

The risk in such a strategy, of course, is that the novels become cookie-cutter copies of each other. This actually happened to one publisher, a novel they claimed was written by a 17 year old Harvard freshman was actually a template that had been used for 4 or 5 different novels, with names and such switched out with a find-and-replace word processing function. The media discovered it and the publisher tried hanging the Harvard girl out to dry, but eventually had to fess up.

And then you have the other side of it, where most of the rich millenials who buy these novels don't actually read them, they just want to look cool/smart by being seen with the latest "hot novel" promoted in social media. At one point the Sacramento Main Library was wasting large amounts of scarce money buying copies of the latest novels so downtown office workers could rent them as fashion accessories. Publishing is one huge scam, and there is no such thing as breaking in to the racket unless one's family is already rich and connected.

I'm not sure what kind of music Vocaloid plays, but I'm surprised that young women are still listening to One Direction. Didn't they break up a couple years ago? Besides, 1D was just the latest teenybopper band made with a very worn cookie cutter strategy. Try finding some videos by New Kids on the Block, they were popular at the beginning of the 1990s yet their stuff is pretty similar to all the other boy groups since. Be happy that you're not a trend follower.

I don't find the above particularly "weird."

The right man, in fact, would find them rather cute.

Here is proof that I am weird:

1. I'm over 200 pounds

My best friend was over 200 pounds.

2. I play video games but I'm not as good as other female gamers so I have to play on easy mode and avoid online gaming.

So? If you're having fun that's all that matters.

3. Sometimes I play as male characters in fighting games

I'm a female, but online I've portrayed Gandalf the Grey and the Cigarette Smoking Man from the X-Files in interactive role-playing games / fanfic creative writing adventures. An author or creative writer can portray both male and female characters.

4. I read manga but hardly watch anime

Why is this weird?

5. I still read books that are young adult fiction

Well, you're definitely a younger adult than I am ...

6. I like to write but no one wants to read it

Do you want to read what other people write? It would be really nice for writers to support one another ... and that goes both ways ... give and take. As a creative writer myself, it really annoys me when everybody expects me to read what they write, but these same people don't care at all about what I write. It's a good idea to offer encouragement as well as ask for it.

7. I listen to Vocaloid and other bands that aren't One Direction.

I have no clue what those bands are ... no worries, it's just a generation gap thing, methinks.

8. My hair is frizzy

There are good hair days, and bad hair days. What's weird about that?

What's weird is that you never respond to me LOL

I'm just kidding, by the way. You're probably more okay than you think.

Here is proof that I am weird:
1. I'm over 200 pounds

If it's "weird" as in unusual, then okay, yes.

2. I play video games but I'm not as good as other female gamers so I have to play on easy mode and avoid online gaming.

What is weird about that? What is so great about being good at video games, unless, of course, you earn enough money from competitions to live off? Not many people earn enough money from video game competitions to live off.

3. Sometimes I play as male characters in fighting games

Some women use pseudonyms of men. On the Internet, some middle aged men claim to be teen girls, and lure underage girls to meet them, and then the men rape them.

Lately, in the news, plenty of women are taking hormone replacement therapy to transition medically into men. Likewise, vice versa.

When I was 24, I took testosterone to transition to male.

Fighting games are just games. What is so weird about that? You choose which player to take.

4. I read manga but hardly watch anime

What is weird about that?

5. I still read books that are young adult fiction

So do I. Sometimes I read picture books. And I am 34. Young adult fiction is easier to read. And sometimes easier to relate to. Adult fiction contains main characters any adult range.

6. I like to write but no one wants to read it

Maybe try a blog, or enter writing contests. See if your work could get into a college paper, or some amateur anthology. If you like to write, big deal. Plenty of people do. Plenty of people do not. If nobody wants to read it, ok. There is no law that says they have to read it. Or maybe you are targeting the wrong audience.

7. I listen to Vocaloid and other bands that aren't One Direction.

Plenty of people listen to different bands. You did not invent the band. You just listened to it.

8. My hair is frizzy

That is not your control. (although, being a siamese twin is not within their control either, but that still makes them wierd.) but plenty of people have frizzy hair. And it is just hair. If you do not like it, you can get it curled, straightened, or whatever.

Quite frankly, I feel like way too many people put too much emphasis on aesthetic appearance. Thus, someone that does not obsess so much about appearance, is "weird".

That is proof that I'm not like normal women.

Nobody is absolutely normal. If someone were normal in all ways, then that would be abnormal. Besides, normal is boring.

I don't want to change who I am but at the same time I sometimes stand in front of the mirror and talk crap about myself. Am I weird because of these things?

If those are the weirdest things about you, then you sound pretty normal to me.

_________________________________________________________

On the other hand, precious little "people" have said (about me), "she's a weirdo" and "he's so strange."

Which is correct. (fine). But "weirdo" is not necessarily bad, even though the way the speakers made it sound, it sounded like it was bad. Maybe they said that b/c they do not like me, b/c I am different from them. But even they could not come up with a logical or decent argument as to what was so wrong with me. Besides that I am not normal enough.

Most people who like One Direction are children and teens, so you needn't feel pressurized to be into that. My taste of music is country and western music, not Justin Bieber.

Everybody's different shapes and sizes, so you can't be too hard on yourself about that. I've often disliked my body shape, I feel too tall and gangly, and I am putting on weight now too because I love my food and not really an exercise person.

I like to write too. I love writing stories about general family life, or creepypastas. My mum has read one of my creepypastas. I've recently wrote one about a boy who murders another boy, which is very emotionally detailed, and a bit gory.

Why is it weird to play a male character in fighting games? Should it matter?
I prefer games I played as a child, on Sega and PS1 and PS2. I can't get my head round modern games on modern consoles. I love playing the Sims 2 on pc but thanks to Windows 10 I can't play it any more without it crashing.

I am weirder than you. I want to do what I want, but peer pressure makes me feel bad and depressed. Like for example, I'm perfectly happy spending my Friday nights and Saturday nights indoors, eating my favourite dinner, watching Youtube videos, writing stories and then going to bed early and watching DVDs in bed. But most people my age (who aren't bogged down with kids) go out on Fridays and Saturdays to bars. Society makes me feel that I'm not normal and that I'm antisocial, just because I don't do those things. I don't drink, and I'm not into modern music and dancing, so going out to a bar is boring to me. But it doesn't mean to say I'm antisocial though. I have a boyfriend and I have friends and family, but my idea of socialising is hanging out in the day, doing shopping, going for lunch out, going for coffee, going to the movies, going over each other's houses and chatting, that sort of stuff.
But, according to young people, you are antisocial if you don't spend your week-end nights at bars.
