I saw it a few days ago.

I didn't have particularly high hopes about it. I'm still upset that Disney is remaking all of the old films as live action. I'm holding a grudge about that, even though I have, so far, liked every single one of their remakes. On top of that, I didn't think Emma Watson was the right choice for Belle at all.

But I found myself with the usually non-existent opportunity to go to the cinema with my husband, so we went and I really enjoyed it. There were bits I didn't like, but overall a very good film.

Who do you think would've been better? I'm actually interested in people's ideas on this. I haven't seen it yet, and I plan to, but I feel the same way.

I haven't seen it yet, either----but, IMO, Emma Watson can't act, to save her life! My mouth fell-open to my feet, when I heard she was playing Belle.

Maybe, Keira Knightley? I'm thinking she still looks young-enough, to pull it off----and, she certainly can act!!

To me, it's just a remake of the animated version, so at this point, I don't plan on seeing it. I'm just not into Disney versions of fairy tales as I prefer the darker, original stories instead.

Brother Kyle, I admire your sense of patience. :)

I saw the remake a few days ago and I liked it! Great acting, perfect musical numbers, and overall a wonderful movie experience! :D

However, I would not be surprised if Disney creates a "cinematic universe" that consists of all of its remakes of animated Disney films.

I only plan on seeing this if someone asks me to go with them (which they won't). Otherwise I have no intention of paying money to see a movie I already own (and is probably worse than).

I just watched! Awesome!

Ewan McGregor singing Be Our Guest? Emma Thompson singing Beauty and the Beast? Double Awesome!

...Has anyone here seen Jean Cocteau's version of the story?
I did, many years ago.
