--A syllabus for a political science course at California State University-Dominguez Hills blasted President Trump as a "white supremacist," "failed businessman," "orange reality star," and much more.
--An anonymous student enrolled in the course told Campus Reform that while they have had liberal professors in the past, they have seen "nothing to the extent of this."
A California State University-Dominguez Hills lecturer recently used her political science course syllabus to assert that President Trump was elected by “appealing to hatred and bigotry,” even labeling him a “white supremacist.”
Dr. Brooke Mascagni included the language in her syllabus for an “American Political Instituions” course, which is worth three credit hours at the California institution.
“The President of the United States won the 2016 election by appealing to hatred and bigotry,” the syllabus declares, according to images obtained by Campus Reform, adding that “just about everyday, a new scandal breaks or evidence of corruption emerges.”

Don't see the problem here; she's just telling the true.

Is Trump a white supremacist or white nationalist? Survey says no. Does he have white supremacists or white nationalists as appointees? Survey also says - no.

Yeah. Promoting the idea that Trump is a supremacist is just dangerous as supremacists themselves.
I am boycotting from nearly any call out of "racism" or a similar term at all. The only true "racism" is supremacy, actually believing one is superior to anyone else. But today's definition of the term is evil. Besides, racism is the human condition, and it's probably not going away as long as we live. That's not always a bad thing. It's good that humans have geographically varying skin tones and other different attributes.
The 10 worst colleges for free speech: 2018
Every year, FIRE chooses the 10 worst colleges for free speech — and unfortunately, 2017 left us with plenty of options: Campuses were rocked by violent mob censorship, monitored by bias response teams, plagued by free speech zones, and beset by far too many disinvitation attempts. Although the number of colleges with the most restrictive speech codes has continued to decline, 90 percent of schools still maintain codes that either clearly restrict or could too easily be used to restrict free speech.
Today, we present our 2018 list of the 10 worst colleges for free speech. As always, our list is presented in no particular order, and it includes both public and private institutions. Public colleges and universities are bound by the First Amendment; the private colleges on this list, though not required by the Constitution to protect student and faculty speech rights, explicitly promise to do so.
A new feature of this year’s list is our Lifetime Censorship Award. This “honor” goes to the one college or university that is so frequently discussed as a contender for our annual “worst colleges for free speech” list that it deserves special recognition. This year, that school is DePaul University.

No white people need apply. Hard to believe an openly racist practice like this is legal, even in Canada.
Dalhousie only seeking racially visible, Indigenous candidates for senior job
Dalhousie University is restricting its search for a new senior position to racially visible and Indigenous candidates in an effort to make the institution more diverse.
In an email to the university community, provost and vice-president academic Carolyn Watters wrote that "community consultation is essential to the success of the search" for a new vice-provost student affairs.
"In keeping with the principles of our employment equity policy, and with an aim to increase the representation of under-represented groups at Dalhousie, this search for a new vice-provost student affairs will be restricted to racially visible persons and Aboriginal peoples at this time," she wrote.

Damn, this isn't a black and white issue for me...
While the implicit racism is tough to swallow, I don't disagree with the gist of affirmative action...
It deals with the reality of life that some in the community are disadvantage simply due to their ethnic background and/or poverty...
And in theory, diversity of thought on the surface does seem to be a rational consideration, assuming the quality of the applicant is appropriate to the job requirements...
If a chicken and a human were to apply for the same job at KFC, by necessity it would be the chicken which *should* gain precedence due to its oppressed status in society, with the assumption that both were equally capable, which in this case, they would be, surely...
Unfortunately, for me, I have to sit on the fence on this one until/if the philosophical constructs in my mind develop one way or t'other...
In regards to replies to this post, be warned:
Only rational arguments will be considered...
Emotionalists need not apply...
Oh dear, have I fallen victim to myself being discriminatory? D'oh!
When even the New York Times is noticing, you know it's getting bad on campus.
We’re All Fascists Now
Christina Hoff Sommers is a self-identified feminist and registered Democrat with a Ph.D. in philosophy and a wicked sense of humor. She is also a woman who says bad things. Things like: Men and women are equal, but there are differences between them. Or: The gender gap in STEM fields isn’t simply the result of sexism. Or: Contrary to received wisdom, the American school system actually favors girls, not boys.
When such a person steps foot on a college campus these days, you know what’s coming. So it was on Monday at Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Ore., where Ms. Sommers had been invited by the Federalist Society to give a talk about feminism.
In advance of the lecture, nine student groups, among them the Portland National Lawyers Guild, the Minority Law Student Association, the Women’s Law Caucus, the Jewish Law Society and the school’s Young Democratic Socialists of America chapter sent a letter protesting the appearance by this “known fascist.”
The letter added that her invitation amounted to an “act of aggression and violence” and went on to offer a curious definition of free speech: “Freedom of speech is certainly an important tenet to a free, healthy society, but that freedom stops when it has a negative and violent impact on other individuals.”
Yes, these future lawyers believe that free speech is acceptable only when it doesn’t offend them. Which is to say, they don’t believe in it at all.

I find it fascinating when someone like Laura Kipnis can also be held up in this light.
On a different note I see Southern Poverty Law Center already has Christina Hoff Sommers in a write-up on male supremecy, not as a male supremecist yet but I'm guessing she's dangling by threads. It's getting ever closer to being a place of validation for anyone anywhere to the right of Che Guevara whose doing anything meaningful.

The return of segregation:
University turns frat into 'safe space for black students'
After a fraternity was permanently suspended last year, students have been demanding that Washington University in St. Louis turn the vacated house into a "safe space for black students."
Students began agitating for the "Black House Movement" in 2016, and immediately began celebrating on social media when the university announced this week that it had accepted the proposal.
Following the permanent suspension of a Washington University in St. Louis (WUSTL) fraternity, the school is converting the newly-vacant fraternity house into a “safe space for black students.” ...
Shortly thereafter, Matthew Wallace, a staff writer for the online student publication Student Life, penned an op-ed titled, “Turn fraternity housing over to minorities and women.”
“These ‘brotherhoods’ have done nothing but occupy valuable space and make the University feel unsafe for many,” Wallace asserted, arguing that “In order to remediate the damage they have caused, Washington University should convert fraternity housing into living spaces for minorities and women.”
Naming several prominent universities with “spaces for students of color,” Wallace advocated that WUSTL take the “bold and necessary step in standing up to the white, male supremacy that is fraternities and giving space to minorities and women.”

In order to remediate the damage, do more damage.

Discrimination in the name of campus diversity is not acceptable
The concept of “diversity” has such a lovely ring to it, conjuring up romantic notions of being forward-thinking and living harmoniously in society. But what if diversity is being used as a way to justify discrimination?
On April 4, documents obtained by a group suing Harvard University demonstrated that the university’s admissions process has been discriminating against Asian applicants for decades.
As discussed in a complaint filed by 64 Asian-American organizations in 2015, affirmative action requires the SAT scores of Asian applicants to be hundreds of points higher than applicants from other ethnic backgrounds. It has reached a point where mixed-raced Asian applicants will choose to hide their Asian heritage when they apply to Ivy League schools.

Professor found guilty of spraying fake blood at NRA lobbyist's home
A sociology professor from Nebraska who was accused of spraying fake blood on the steps of a National Rifle Association lobbyist's home in January was convicted Monday of misdemeanor destruction of property.
Patricia Hill, a University of Nebraska-Lincoln faculty member, was ordered to pay a $500 fine and stay away from lobbyist Chris Cox after she vandalized his home in Alexandria, Va.
She already had a temporary restraining order that prohibits her from going near Cox’s wife’s business or the NRA offices in Virginia and Washington, D.C.
The court also issued Hill a warrant for an additional vandalism charge regarding a similar incident in October.
