The obvious reason is that introverts can't socially network a much to get jobs, promotions, etc.

The less obvious reason? Introverts are tired by being around other people. This gives introverts less energy for other work. For this reason, introverts have less energy at work and in class.

An extrovert will not tire from being around his colleagues so he'll have more energy and be able to work faster for longer. If the manager sees both workers he'll think the extrovert is a good worker and the introvert is lazy when really he's just tired.

Introverts have their advantages too and smart employers will recognise this.

They are often the ones who actually do the lion's share of the work instead of wasting time chatting to everyone and getting little accomplished.
Because introverts sit back, they can often see the bigger picture or a solution to a problem that isn't obvious to everyone else.
They usually have more focus and specialise in a given area.
Their quiet presence can have a calming, anchoring influence on other staff.

It's an advantage because I stfu and work which gets recognized in a positive way. It's also a disadvantage because it will be harder for me to find a better job because I don't network or have references.

Not me. But my contrentration problems are a totally seperate problem from my introversion.

If only I could be as obsessed with my work as I am with things that aren't work.

They probably are when it comes to getting a job, but yeah I don't know who has the advantage in the workplace itself....maybe there isn't one.
