Hey! Has anybody heard of the Netgear CM1000 DOCSIS 3.1 modem? It can leverage new technologies like Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM)! http://www.netgear.com/home/products/ne ... M1000.aspx

It also has UART pins which means one can flash custom firmware using a USB to UART cord. This could facilitate free internet if you clone someone else's MAC address that is on a different node via custom firmware! But that would be technically stealing :( . This would be a killer combination with the Netgear Nighthawk X10 router!

I was surprised to not find it at flashrouters.com, but maybe it is too new or something.

I was thinking of something more along the lines of Sigma X2 or Haxorware.
