I debated with myself about whether to put this up here or in the Women's section. Anyone else excited about this being a thing on Hulu? I haven't managed to sit down and watch it yet, but I plan to during my weekend.

Would this be better in the Women's section?

I'm watching it! I never read the book, which I'm considering doing.

I loved the book. Of course I would, since I have a really special spot in my heart for dystopian future stuff. You should definitely read it.

I also like dystopian stories. Currently, I'm reading "We", did you ever read this?
Also, did you watched 3% (from netflix)?, it's from my country (brazil).

Nope to both of those. Never even heard of them.

A friend of mine read Just Like Beauty by Lisa Lerner (another dystopian future work from a definite feminist standpoint) for some sort of Women's Studies class. I borrowed the book when she was done reading it. It was good, though kind of...extreme at points. This is a book that sticks with you and makes you think. The same way Handmaid's Tale does. Both are worth reading if you're into that sort of thing.

It was so well done. The whole thing was just so well done. I'm so glad there's going to be more.

I saw the movie from years ago, which I very much enjoyed. I have no idea how loyal it was to the book, or how it compares to the new series.

I didn't even realize there was a movie until you mentioned it. I was only 8 when it came out, so that makes sense. But I don't remember the movie ever coming up when we read it in school. It only has three stars on IMDB, and there's a lot of ways to go wrong with this stuff, so I'm a little wary of watching the movie now. The book was worth reading, and the TV series exceeds expectations.
