I hate not being praised for something that I feel that I have done well.

Thats how I feel about it too. I find easier to be told I am crap, which I am.

I don't hate being praised, but it does make me self-conscious and uncomfortable. Usually I will put up with it but would rather people not praise me, although sometimes I do feel ignored when no one does. In general, though, I hate having attention drawn to myself in any way, positive or negative.

likewise.

first preference: no response

second preference: getting told off. at least i know i have to leave the situation.

third preference: condescending lil compliments. compliments make me paranoid. it's like a stranger hanging candy out of a car. it's confusing. sure, it's good. until it's bad.

This is how I feel. Sometimes, too, it will be for something that I don't feel was difficult or important which also confuses me.

I savour any praise I get because it happens rarely. I kind of save all instances of praise and keep them at the forefront of my mind to cheer me up when I'm feeling down.

I find it awkward because I like it and find it patronising at the same time.

I hate having attention drawn to myself as well. If my dad tried to take a video/picture of me when I was younger, I would run away whining. For some reason I still enjoy being praised, though. It's just a motivation booster for me :D .

I avoid compliments because imo, compliments are insults in disguise.

I don't hate it, but I don't often accept it either. I just wave it off because (1) I don't really think I'm that great at anything and (2) I'm uncomfortable with the attention.
