I'm emily and I'm 18. I was diagnosed with autism a year ago and struggle to make and keep friends. I have recently found out about groups for autistic people near where I live and I want to go but I'm extremely nervous has anyone got any tips? :)

Hey Emily, welcome to the forums. :)

Maybe, for the first time you go, you can bring a family member or a friend along?

Or, maybe you can contact the organisers of these groups and talk to them via email or something similar?

As a musical term for sure, "the '80s" imply the late '70s and early '90s. You can think of them as tapers of this golden decade.

Are the groups for autistic people, or are they for parents of autistic children? The only group driving distance from my home is for the latter. :?
