We can't be truly progressive until we make fornication mandatory.

Places like that show that not all culture in America is equal.

I'm sure that they all voted for Trump.

Very probably.

Another article on the incident in Indonesia

Aceh and parts of the American South have a lot in common. They're both backwater areas, with backward religious views. Most of Indonesia isn't like that.

It was, in Sodom and the parks of Westboro.

When no wholesome kind of human activity can ever be politically-correct, enough, without being sexually-inclusive, I am willing to call that a slippery slope; what if their preference has nothing to do with it, and doesn't need to be applauded, at all times, and in all places.

Do I get to say mine.

Indonesia seems like a terrible place to live...execution for so much as possession of drugs, severe beatings that could result in death for gay sex what else do they got going on there? But that said its another example of why separation of state and religion is a good thing, it prevents archaic laws and sentences like this being justified in the name of religious law.

Hence why I find it disturbing there are government officials and such in the U.S even involved in the current administration trying to push for less separation of state and religion, and more religious influence in politics. If they get their way next thing you know we might end up with comparable biblical law. But seems some people can only see the problem of religious law if it's sharia law, when biblical law would be just as bad if not worse. I don't want that here...whether its sharia or biblical based.

Hmm.... Indonesia is a huge country (~260 Millions) while the entire Arab world is just 422 Millions (22 countries combined) and it has legal variations within its provinces and regions; it's like they have different systems / regimes / laws within the same country. They're very socially and culturally diversified, it's not a homogeneous culture like in Saudi Arabia.

The social differences within the same country are shocking actually. I notice this usually shocking to Americans and Arabs btw, since both of those peoples have the picture in mind that all Indonesia is living strictly under sharia in Saudi Arabia way. When they think Indonesia, they think of the life in Aceh- I dunno why.

Just to be clarify: Aceh is the only part of Indonesia where the Sharia is fully applied.

In Jakarta (majority muslims), women commonly dress like that (not saying it's secular, but not as strict as Aceh):

and clubbing life in Jakarta isn't uncommon (but there's an increasing risk to be bombed by some f**ktard)

They even have Miss transgender

While in Aceh:

Bali (Hindus):

They're not socially homogeneous.

But yeah, the more Islam is applied, the more backward.

I don't disagree with that.

Aceh is only a flyspeck sized province at the northern tip of one of the big islands of Indonesia (the green bit the upper left corner).

Aceh does not equal all of Indonesia. Indonesia is a big diverse country. Definitely not another Saudi Arabia.

Depending on the cult, prostitution is considered a sort of religious sacrament, like baptism, offering, or communion. It is not only allowed, but supposed to confer a blessing, on special occasions.
