How come I don't have permissions to delete a post?

anyone? seems like a standard thing you'd be able to do on a furom but here alas, not here...why?

After a very short amount of time, the software does not let you. You can ask a moderator to do it.

with so few of us active these days, we may not be able to delete every post a user would want to take back as it can very quickly become time consuming (and it must be done one at a time), so with all due respect we ask that you give a post some real thought before sending it off to the world, especially if it is sensitive. :)

i forget the exact time frame for deletion, but it disappears as soon as it is no longer the most recent post in any thread.

threads may quickly become confusing and they may not 'flow" as well as they could, if content could be deleted at any time. but that's just me.
