I'm 39 (ok will be on Saturday), still live at home with my parents and have Non Verbal Learning Disorder (NVLD/NLD) which used to be on the fringe of the spectrum until DSM IV totally screwed anyone who doesn't fit into a nice neat box. I have a cashier Job at Home Depot, which I do so-so in and I muddle thru. Anyway, I've gone thru the steps at Specialistrne (resume, statement of interest, etc) with no real contact and was in the process with The Precisionists. Unfortunately with TPI, they only offered Delaware and Nashville and while I wanted to be independent moving out of my area scared me and I dropped it. Also it required a 4 week evaluation and I wouldn't be guaranteed a job. Dropping my cashier job which pays my limited bills seemed like it could have been bad too. Anyone know of any other companies like this or any good ways to find a job. Prior to my cashier job, I had experience at a small computer store fixing PCs (which went better than other stuff) and a stint at a hospital as a Pharmacy Technician which resulted in me getting fired for making 1 too many mistakes (DVR trained me as a Pharmacy Tech).
