When Sessions and whoever else is being asked if they have communicated with Russians / the Russian government, does that mean simply meeting a Russian ambassador at a convention or some other Russian at a populated event where people brush shoulders, or are they asking about some secret meeting behind closed doors? I mean they're looking for collusion as in secret cooperation right? So how would two people happening to be at the same convention or similar be pertinent?

It's obviously meaning secret collusion with the Russians. Otherwise, why all the attempts to cover up those meetings?

I don't know if they're covering them up or if these elbow rubs at populated events just aren't worth remembering.

There's something more here than just innocent rubbing of elbows, otherwise there wouldn't be this desperation to keep silent unless compelled to speak.

As a hypothetical it's possible that Donald Trump has the same sort of malignantly paranoid personality as $hillary and might not have actively and knowingly engaged in any wrong-doing - but typically when one engages in a cover-up it is due to have done wrong as you suggest.

He's certainly acting guilty regardless of if he is guilty or not.

Communicating with the Russians to Democrats means ever being in the same room with them, it's stupid and disingenuous to the extreme considering that it's completely normal for congressmen to meet with thousands of foreign dignitaries every year. "Trump is acting guilty", no there is a witch hunt out to get him from people that want to overturn the results of the election and this has been abundantly clear from the start. All this fake 'concern' when the intention has always been the destruction of Trump's presidency, these people are straight up traitors and their is no mystery behind their intentions.

IT WAS HER TURN!

Here's how stupid and dishonest Democrats are, when they thought they were going to win they went on to try to create this narrative that Trump wouldn't accept the results of the election and how it was dangerous to our democracy. They mocked the very idea that our elections got be rigged or 'hacked' but barely a week later they start crafting this Russian fiction, the media thinks you are stupid(and a lot of people apparently are) and have no long term memory so they pretend they never said what they said. It's the same thing with the fake news stuff, they were trying to paint opposition news sources like Breitbart and Drudge as 'fake news' meanwhile they've unleashed the greatest torrent of fake news & yellow journalism this country has seen since the Spanish-American War all the while saying that the term they made up 'fake news' is the equivalent of the 'n-word' to journalists. You can't take these people seriously and shouldn't give them any credibility, they will say and do anything to push their narrative. The MSM has been exposed straight up lying over and over and over again, you can predict how they'll lie about something in real time.

Under a posture of free trade, without coercion, and defensive warfare, only, there should be no secrets to betray. Break bread with the Russian, on your own time and money. Give him no quarter, if he intrudes.

Breitbart and Drudge are fake news.
I remember once a photo appearing in Drudge, of when Obama, along with with the French President, were descending a staircase, had caught Obama turning his head at the right moment, while in the background, a young lady had already passed them and was ascending said stairs. Drudge published the photo with the caption: Mr President! The implication being, Obama was checking out this woman (and so what if he was). Well, Drudge had taken an innocuous picture, and implied something about it, bringing about a storm of racist comments by Drudge's readership - as I believe was expected and planned on.

These Russian dignitaries report on anything they do back to their intelligence agencies. Our officials need to do so, as well. That's the basics.

Sessions had lots of influence in the Senate, and the US had imposed sanctions on Russia. Sessions also supported Trump, who wanted a soft approach to Russia. Sessions spent a lot of time doing his powerful job and his political activities, and he had been around long enough to know that any encounter with a representative of Russia under those circumstances should be reported to our intelligence agencies. One should get it on record immediately, like Comey had the sense to do when he met with our Russian representative.

They can't sell you out, even cheaply, without first having undue influence over others.

This is not just not true and never has been, it's a standard that never existed before and never will. You don't seem to grasp how many foreign dignitaries these people meet or how many are in Washington at any given time and how routine these non-meetings are. How about these so called 'intelligence agencies' prove even one shred of the 'leaked' accusations they've thrown out there? They have people arguing about semantics when there isn't any wrong doing, you can't obstruct justice against a totally bogus witch hunt. Democratic partisans will never accept any result except the one they've already decided on. These are political actors and people should remember how they LIED and started a war with Iraq, remember Chuck Schumer smugly warning Trump how the intelligence community would get him '6 ways from Sunday? What might he been talking about?

For employees of the intelligence services with a security clearance, any contact with a known or suspected agent of foreign intelligence must be reported in something like a suspicious contact report.

Public officials with security clearances don't have the same requirement, but they should practice good counterintelligence awareness because it's the right thing to do! Sessions has been doing his job long enough to know this. That he also didn't mention those contacts in written answers during his confirmation hearings is a bigger problem.
