Should I cut the screws off of my vgs cable?

Because they're kind of keeping from plugging the cable into the input.

If they are prohibiting a solid connection (for whatever reason) than I would say yes......unless the connector can't stay plugged in without them

I tried cutting them. But there is metal between the plug and screws. And I tried unscrewing the nuts on the screws, but they wouldn't move a single bit.
