Hey all at Wrong Planet,

My name is James. I'm 25, and I'm from Singapore.

I've just been recently diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. After years of bullying, struggling with friends and with school, the late diagnosis has come at long last. I truly feel it is an honour to be considered as one of you.

As a newly-diagnosed individual, this is a whole new world for me, and I feel a bit overwhelmed by the amount of things I'm still learning about myself, autism, and all the politics and discussions surrounding the topic.

I hope my stay here would help me to acquaint myself with the worldwide autism community.

I hope my post finds all of you well, and I would love to speak to you!

With love,
James

Thank you! :3

Just a question: in my profile, under the Diagnosis box, as I have a post-DSM-5 diagnosis of ASD, I don't think I should put Asperger's. Which should I put, then?

I believe that'd be categorized as "other autism spectrum disorder".

Hi James, I'm from Singapore and I've just been diagnosed with HFA myself. They no longer use the word "Aspergers" in DSM5, but I'm pretty sure that's the word for me... I share your feelings of being overwhelmed.. Would like to connect further.
