In trying to update my WrongPlanet.net password this morning, I learned that new passwords “Must be between 6 and 100 characters.” Fair enough, I thought, and proceeded to use a password that included punctuation symbols (!, ", £, $, and so on). Mistake! The new password didn’t work. So, by using the automated password-reset feature, I read in its instructions that if I wanted to make my password even “more secure,” I should use characters like “!, ", £, $....” Well, which is it, are symbols okay, or aren’t they? Having gone through this just minutes ago, I can say DON’T use symbols in your “more secure” passwords. The WP instructions should be corrected and harmonized so that others don’t fall victim to the confusion I suffered.
