Like Bannon, Hitler's head of the SS, Heinrich Himmler, had also held absurd mystical beliefs which his whole notion of the Nazi racial mysticism was based. Probably like Trump, Hitler was not a believer in Himmler's pseudo-religious ideology - he was in fact privately embarrassed by it - but Hitler, as Trump today, chose to give his ear to a man who anyone else would have considered insane.
