They've done MRI on my brain and read my brainwaves with EEG. But then again I have other neurological problems besides autism.

Diagnosis is still done by combinations of observation, interview, interview with relatives/others close to the person, the precise combination depending on whether it is a child or adult being diagnosed.

Regarding study and research, brain imaging methods such as MRI and blood flow measurements(non invasive obviously) are one area of research.

Many people who are not medical doctors also study autism.

i asked my mom how they were able to diagnose me.
she said they asked questions about me.
and i told her did they test my brain?
she said theres no test for autism.
and said ik but cant they do studies on me?
like just watch my mind with a mri.
and she said they cant do that.
i think they can.
so thats leads to one question.
how were they able to prove i had it?
they obv had to do something.
they couldnt just ask what behaviors and symptoms i was showing.

because brain injury can cause autism like symptoms but not autism.
they obv had to do a brain scan or something.
they had to do evidence.
