As an Aspergian, I've found it difficult at times to carry out tasks when asked to. It's been especially difficult it seems since my Mom passed away. Recently, my Dad took the family dog for a brief trip to my sister's house and wanted me to just yell at him in an attempt to get him out of the car. After only one attempt, I went toward the car and tried to give him a little nudge to flush him out. My Dad excoriated me for my actions, and he only got out after a longer ride moments later.

Anything I can/should do to remedy this or am I too far gone at my age (mid-30s)?

I guess you didn't want to yell at the dog.

I would have probably done the same thing.

It's not a lack of "listening" ability.

I would have yelled at the dog too. Sorry about your mothers passing. I hope you're doing okay.

You sound kind-hearted.
Good for you.
