Last night while sitting with my family, I started crying out of nowhere. I thought my eyes were just watering at first.

But I wasn't sad at all, so it seemed like an involuntary reaction (to what, I don't know). I felt a little confused. It stopped a few minutes later.

Has this happened to anyone else? I have major depression but it's never happened to me before.

I've had that before as a side effect from some medications in the past, which made me cry or feel like crying for absolutely no reason.

I have cried for unknown reasons (at the time), as well, but, I will often, have an epiphany or realization, minutes, hours or days, afterward, as to what had likely been the trigger. Perhaps, different than what you have experienced.

Low blood sugar might do that.
