What happens to some people?

I'm not meaning to be rude or offensive, but I'm just curious- why do some people post in the "Getting to Know Each Other" forum saying that they will be here a while, and then they never post again? I'm just wondering if they get bored or something?

Maby they went into lurk mode?
Maby they died?
Maby they forgot their password?
Maby they have nothing to say?

Who can tell...

Make a poll and ask, if you're lucky you'll get some answers.

Maybe they decided they didn't like this place because of some things they read or or some things in life came up & then they forgot about it.

I would say, most likely, that something else came up in their life.

I signed up in February, 2014, didn't post until the next month. I now have almost 36,000 posts.

This post looks like it was about me, so I will answer: I had nothing interesting to add and switched to lurk mode.

It was about the 200 other people like you . Honestly, I've seen you post here before. I really meant the people that posted once saying they were going to contribute a lot and post and then you never see them again.

Maybe they lost their nerve. I personally am one of those as I made such a post only to slink back into my little corner as I always do whenever I find myself somewhere new. Sure I'd post, but until earlier this year, it was rare and it was just to see if I got any bites so to speak. I'm pretty sure I had under 50 posts over the first 2 1/2 years, with probably only half that (if even) evoking any sort of response. I'm trying to be better about it, but... sometimes I wonder if this is even the proper place.
