There are no statues of hitler, but we havent forgot him.

Nope.

We've just forgotten who got him into power.

I remember who got him into power. It was the people who believed things could not really get that bad. It was the people who insisted on turning the other cheek when others where calling for their extermination. It was the American government who tried to appease Nazi Germany and later regretted that decision.

Now there are people who are insisting upon making the same mistake under Führer Trump.

That is because Nazi Germany soldiers were and are considered fighting for a foreign enemy. Rightly or wrongly after the union was preserved Confederates have been considered Americans and its fighters memorialized accordingly.

Coexistence as oppsed to elimination.
