Hi,

I'm going to be a sophomore in college, and living in the dorms again (with a new roommate). Last year I didn't bring a tv, and used a computer for most of my entertainment. Now I got a tv and would like to bring it for tv shows and gaming. I'm just worried that it might be awkward if I have a tv and my roommate doesn't. What are your thoughts, and did any of you bring a tv to your dorm room?

also, i can use headphones with the tv.

When I lived on campus, someone put her TV in the common area. They watched TV a lot. And they had the nerve to tell me that the rule was to sleep with the door closed just so they could turn up the volume

If you bring a TV and do not share, someone could get resentful

I agree that they could get resentful, especially since i've never been good at sharing.

Yes but anyone could get resentful for any reason or no reason.

It's like you ought to have priority over choosing what channel to watch. But if the roommate has to overhear the tv, then that does not seem right that you control the tv completely.

Zero, fifty, and one hundred percent control of the tv does not make sense.

There is no magic number

But that does not mean do not bring a tv
