Christopher Columbus monument vandalized political reasons

Did I say Columbus was a good fellow?
But I can't blame Columbus for bringing about the genocide.

So why would we want a statue and holiday glorifying that?Should we get to rape and pillage on that day?He was the beginning of a great genocide. No reason to celebrate that.

What about all our museums where we honor those that killed Indians ?
Like "the battle of Little Big Horn"?
Those have to come down, right?

We don't have a Custer holiday.
Museums are for showing history, both good and bad. That is where I think the Confederate statues belong, they are part of our history.Columbus isn't.
As for any headstone honoring the dead, that's not really the same as celebrating Columbus's supposed great accomplishments.I'd imagine most of the dead soldiers wished they had never seen the Little Big Horn or Custer.
What museum specifically honors Indian killers?

Lol but Trump doesn't own an Indian casino.
They call themselves Indians. It was only white PC liberals who insisted they be called Native Americans. The Indians I've known of like the Paiute in Vegas and the Tulalip here, think it's dumb.
Of course not,the geezer is white as a biscuit.A biscuit dipped in self tanner.
You don't celebrate CC day there in Seattle do you?
I think Native or Indian is a matter of personal choice. Some people refer to themselves as Black, and others African American.
CC day? Have no idea. I live in Snohomish county.

I'm serious. Now that this trend has been initiated, it should go the entire distance. No exceptions.

Not all of them participated in genocide,it also wouldn't be fair to the poor soldiers who only enlisted so they have something to eat and a pitiful paycheck.
I don't think all statues are bad,I like the MLK one at the capital.I donated money for it.

Darn right!
We are taking that mile and there's nothing that you can do about it!
NOTHING
Dream on. You're massively outnumbered by the silent majority. Push hard enough and the majority won't be silent anymore. They're already stirring. You won't know what's hit you. I suppose it's pretty much guaranteed to happen with the mentality of you people. You'll always push forward when you see an opening. Eventually you'll run into a brick wall. Or, more accurately, a brick wall will run into you.

I don't live in Seattle. I live in an entirely different county, so I'm not familiar with it. And unless it's a holiday that involves a day off from school and or candy, I usually don't pay any attention when it takes place.
But anyways it seems like Thanksgiving is the biggest slap in the face to Natives.

Will agree on that, but I doubt that holiday gets changed.I jokingly refer to it as Thankstaking.Love the scene in the Addams Family movie when they burn the village to the ground.
I can't remember doing anything in school for that day.

Thanksgiving doesn't need to be abolished. We just need to update it.
During Thanksgiving, we thank God for the bounty of the harvest.
Instead, we should thank the Native Americans. They were the ones who kept the Americas pristine and clean until us crackers showed up.
Think about what the European colonialists deserved. They killed millions of people and stole two entire continents. The "Injuns" fought back violently, but they still gave us a tiny fraction of the punishment that we deserved. We should be thankful for that.
From now on, we should thank Native Americans on Thanksgiving. They, unlike God, actually exist.
