Hi, you wouldn't believe it but it's supposed to be winter up here and it is still hot! It's good to see that there's so many Aussies here.

I'm currently living in Hamilton, NZ at the moment. Originally from Wellingtown though.

Looks like the Kiwis have caught up with us and the Western Australians aren't far behind.

That's what you get for living in Townsville. I'd be tempted to go up that way. Then again some of the fog we've been getting is real cool, dunno if we'll get anymore this year though.

Jeremy, this weather is hot even for Townsville at this time of year. I'm beginning to wonder if we are even going to get a winter this year.

I've been to Melbourne a few times and like the weather there better.

How hot? Weather can do strange things. Our April was warmer than February this year (Beautiful one day, warmer the next, The Age). While we also had some unusually warm weather in June (Unseasonable weather plays havoc, The Age). People point to global warming, though throughout time we always seem to reaching new extremes in the weather. But people also seem to forget this.

But in recent years, I've often wondered whether we'd ever get summer (though there is a bit of a trend for cold weather in Melbourne straight after Christmas and can last a while into January, though usually it'll stack on hot weather before hand). But the last summer was certainly mild.

Winter here in my town is awful. It's absolutely freezing, and quite frankly I can't be bothered turning the heater on.

The upside is that we get wickedly eerie looking fog at night some nights.

Which town, where?

Hamilton, central north island of NZ.

We've had the hottest March, April and May on record and probably the hottest June, too. Yesterday, it felt as if it was about 30 degrees but thankfully today, it is cool and overcast.

I hang out for winter because most of the year here is summer weather.

I'm in the North.

AHAHAHAHHAHAHAha. Some very disturbing thoughts came into my mind. I can't stop laughing. And by the the way, sheep shagging is legal. Everyone here does it.



He's going to hang out with me, I'll take him to all the best spots in the area. Oh he probably wants to do some socially inappropriate things too, he can do those with someone else.

Why does Everyone do it? Are the sheep more desirable than most of the women? You seem alright, but now I'm wondering about the others there.


If sheep shaging is socially acceptable, then what isn't? I mean, all I'm looking to go do someday is find some nice scenic spot, go trap shooting, race around on dirt bikes. Then sit around a campfire, maybe get a little bored and throw a piece of magnesium in. Then shoot off fireworks and homemade explosives made from innocent enough materials purchased there...basically all the crazy redneck American stuff, but with a whole new landscape.

Come to think of it, NZ doesn't have much in the way of native fauna for you to hunt. It was essentially only occupied by bird species before humans arrived, these species would be protected. Though I'm sure they'd welcome you to hunt possums (introduced from Australia) and other pests introduced from Europe (e.g. deer).

Let's revitilise (sp) this thread!
