Is this part of your OCD, or do you enjoy walking?

I walk/run 14 miles a week because I run two miles a day. I am not including steps I take at home or at work or when going to work or coming home or when I do ZUMBA or use the elliptical or anything in my daily life when I move around.

200 miles ! that's a hell of a distance.

Shame you didn't walk another 300 miles as I would've had to make a Proclaimers reference. The Proclaimers - I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)
Blimey I just realised that song is nearly 30 years old

I'm happy it was less than 500 because that way we got a reference to a reference, which is even more referency than a reference :)

Seriously though, that's awesome. I love exercising and walking but I typically get < 80k steps/week plus about 4 "hard" workouts.

That is more than a daily marathon?

What purpose did all that walking fulfill?

Are you doing a sponsored walk a thon where you earn money for walking?

Are you trying to set a world record?

Do you like walking?

Did someone hire you to walk?

Because since November 2015, I have aimed for 55 miles walked per week

Measured on a map

Two significant digits

The most I ever walked in a week was seventy miles

And I have no job and do not go to school

Thus far, with the exception of chronic extreme constipation and fatigue, no physical health problems. That I know of

And where I live, it had weather where you can walk yearround

Sometimes in the rain but not in the snow

And almost none of those miles are uphill or downhill

And live somewhere with convenient public transportation

Sidewalks decent

Nobody has raped me yet

But if and when one of those conditions changes, then that makes it extremely difficult to walk nearly that far

:P

Overexercise sometimes has side effects

:x :x :x

How far do you usually walk?

:?

But at this point walking is my favorite exercise.

Because you do not financially pay, with the exception of shoes

You can measure distances.

While if you are dancing the calories are harder to measure

You can walk almost anywhere

You do not have to wait for someone else. Like you can't play football alone

And walking serves an immediate functional purpose

You go somewhere to play baseball, soccer, basketball, etc

Walking is a method of transportation in and of itself

Usually on Sunday I walk 20 miles instead of the usual seven. Then sometimes I eat more. Like three servings more than usual. But do not know what is the correct amount. Eat too much and gain weight. Eat too little and binge later.

There is something wrong with everything

The other thing is that for at least two days after the 20 miles, feel exhausted

And sleep nine hours a day. Sometimes more

The body needs to rest

I am 34 and can't do the things that I did when i was 19

On Sunday at 8:30 pm got exhausted all of a sudden.

Suspect that if walk any more, will get sick as a way to get rest

Food costs $$$$

How long did it take to walk 200 miles?

Where did you go?

Pedometer

Walking makes me feel better emotionally

I'm glad it isn't completely OCD. Those are some pretty high numbers! You should be proud of yourself :D .

I walk 1.5 mil (15 km) sometimes, that's just under 10 miles. Pop in a podcast in my phone, earplugs on and off i go. Just need a waterbottle, nothing else. When i get tired i stop and rest. Nothing complicated.

I could walk way longer, but i get bored easily after a couple of hours.

200 miles in a week averages to 28 miles/day. I once walked 19 miles in one day, from Seattle to Factoria to Bellevue. It took me from 7AM to 7PM. Walking 28 miles would probably have been a 24hr event, in other words, no time to sleep in 7 days. 200 miles in one week? I don't know. Seems a little hard to believe.

That's about 44 km. It is up there with the better long distance hikers, but it is not impossible. Extreme walkers can do more. Of course, long distance runners can do more.

Regardless one got to carry a tonne of calories if you have that kind of tempo.

I really start having fun when I hit my goal. I feel a compulsion to do it, but get some joy along the way.
