Rhyming in Fives - Into the Sunset (Hoping this is DnB. If not, my apologies)

Rhyming in Fives is amazing. I'd say if it's on a dnb label and you want to post it go for it. The Light Leaks EP is amazing and as far as emotional impact, although it's almost more of an album outro than a tune, 'Glimmer' is almost heart-wrenching.

Britte,

This album might be your thing. Look up Consequence - Live For Never.

A few tracks from that:

Also this is quite nice. I think I've seen this producer on LTJ Bukem type mixes but I'm not 100% sure. Has definite Good Looking-type vibes.

I remember this tune hitting me pretty well back in 2005, I had a dj mix from Skandalus called Glass Ceiling (she threw that set down as hard as Technical Itch or Limewax) and this came in as a really poignant tune at an equally poignant place in the mix.

The best way I can describe this one and what it does for me, it's got a coldness to it that rings inner-battle sort of bells with me, in a similar way to how Hate to Feel by Alice In Chains does but off a different angle/tangent. You may hear that element to it or may not, it's there not just in the gauntness of the palette but the particularity of the details. Great tune/remix either way.

Thank you!

Thanks, also, for the recommendation to listen to Glimmer.

...still reading through your recent posts and look forward to returning, later, when I can spend more time.

hope your evening has been a good one, thus far.

here's one in return, that I find appealing. I have no idea which genre it is considered. can you tell me the most efficient way to check the label for DnB? I'm not sure it is always noted on youtube. perhaps a quick google search, then?

I like it, but it is tough to label. It's probably somewhere between dub techno and two-step garage.

As for dnb, you get to know it by the drum structure, ie. the particular jazz pattern the drums have and the bpm it requires (usually 165-180 bpm somewhere).

I just listened to this, and had a listen to Hate to Feel. The similarity that I notice, is the static type effect in both. Perhaps not what you were describing, though. Throughout the first part of the song, the dnb sounds exactly like a song I like, a lot, in fact, here it is. I assume, it wouldn't be classified as DnB, but, perhaps it is? It definitely, consists of elements of Neo Soul and Jazz. Anyway_

Ok, thanks. I think you did mention the bpm's in the past. The jazz notation just put it into perspective for me, so thanks for mentioning it.

I think you're pointing out well where the boundaries blur and fuse. I'd say this Jamiroquai tune is definite dnb, and that's made all the more easy by the late 90's work of Roni Size, Die, Suv, Krust, etc. at V and Full Cycle because so much of what they were doing was 'jazzstep' drum n bass (and in that sense neosoul in the same rhythms would cut a similar way).

I'll add too it's not just about it being a dnb track by Jamiroquai, they're well known for achingly beautiful melodies and concepts (in a similar way to Faithless IMHO), this tune's no exception.

I have always found Jamiroquai appealing, and I, often utilize their music to maintain mental stamina while working. I particularly like how upbeat and progressive their music is. Thanks for the additional details and this example. I love this track and had never heard it before (that I recall).

I neglected to return here, thus haven't listened to the 3 pieces you kindly posted/ you thought I might like. Will be having a listen to those, asap. Thanks, again !
