I think I've helped derail Boo's thread enough, but suffice it to say, both of you are assuming the presence of beliefs I do not hold. We can move it to another thread or chat in pm if you are really interested.

Bernie may have described himself as a Socialist at one point, but the policies he's actually putting forward are more in line with European style Social Democracy. There is literally no way in hell he will be able to put forward anything remotely socialist in the way you are thinking.

Be patient and remain persistent. Technological growth is on our side. We'll use the internet to spread the awful truth.

He will never get enough congressional Democrats on board with anything truly "radical".

Once the American people realize that their corrupt congressmen have been destroying everything, they will be pissed.
Congressional Democrats will eventually cave in out of fear.

The American masses are very powerful. Ignorance is holding them back. They are disorganized and confused. The internet will cure this.

Sanders is loathed by the wealthiest people in the world. Most poor people who know him, love him. The struggle has already begun ... though it has yet to reach its epic climax.

Of course that won't stop the right from going into a "literally Stalin" hysteria over him.

It's 2017. Nearly everyone has internet access. Anyone can go on YouTube and listen to Chomsky talk about how Stalinism is not the only kind of socialism.

The internet just keeps getting better and better. In the nineties, many people didn't even have internet access. The internet was slow. Loading took forever. Nowadays, most people in the middle class watch YouTube videos all the time ... with barely any loading! We can even watch YouTube videos on our phones!

In a decade (or perhaps even sooner) even the poorest people in America will have smartphones with high speed internet access. That's when the real fun begins.

The printing press changed the global political climate in countless ways. So did the telephone. The internet has yet to reach its full potential. It will remake the world in its image.
