Former model and only 28 yrs of age Hope Hicks has become the youngest and least experienced or qualified person to be appointed to the powerful role of communications director to the US president

Based on Trump's thinking he could appoint a porn star to the role of secretary of state

I don't see how her brief history as a model is a deflector. Plenty of young girls try their hand at modeling out of high school or in college. But most of her working career (according to your article) out of college was in advertising and later PR. I would say she has some experience and probably more in the loop to get connected to a younger audience... Would I prefer someone with decades of experience? Sure, but sometimes a hard worker who can network isn't a bad choice and should not be disqualified based on a non sexual modeling gig.

I am more interested in why she is avoiding camera interviews and staying out of the media as the article points out. If she is just interested in keeping a low profile and more of an observer. Seems odd to take such a public role.

Her experiences growing up and working in the 24/7 news cycle/social world might be an advantage over someone with decades of experience in the analog PR world.

Been avoiding much of the news and only learned of this here, so I went looking.
Found,

Quote:
Hicks didn't have any political experience, but her public-relations roots run deep. Both grandfathers worked in PR, and her father, Paul, was the NFL's executive vice president for communications and public relations. He was also a town selectman from 1987 to 1991. Greenwich proclaimed April 23, 2016, as Paul B. Hicks III Day.

Hicks started working on what would become Trump's campaign five months before Trump announced his presidency, after he famously rode a golden escalator down to the lobby of his tower on June 16, 2015.

That makes Hicks the campaign staffer who has persisted in Trump's inner circle the longest. She outlasted his first campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, and several senior advisers.

The issue is her lack of experience and lack of qualification rather than her looks

It's symptomatic of a unqualified leader, boss or manager to appoint people who can't questions their own incompetence

Your title and original post gives the impression you have a problem with her being a model; when in reality you just have a problem with President Trump.

Who gives a s**t that she was a model. Can she do the job? That's all that should matter. She could be a purple headed gay chimera for all I care-- if she can do the job. Her former career doesn't tell us much about her abilities for the current role, true, but that's not the full story-- she's been on the Trump organization's public relations team since 2012, she has actual experience in communications, unlike the recently departed 'Mooch. I do, however, question Trump's judgement because he's already had a historic level of turnover in his administration, which tells me Trump is not a good judge of character and/or competence.

It makes absolute sense that the least qualified President of all time should appoint equally unqualified people to posts.

I should clarify: I have no problems with Hope Hicks, she's actually one of the most qualified people Trump has hired, not only does she have experience (not that five years is much), but that experience is actually in the department she'll be working, unlike say Ben Carson (experience: doctor, post: Housing/Urban Development), Rick Perry (experience: getting drunk at niggerhead ranch, post: too drunk to remember), and of course Jared Kushner (experience: banging the president's daughter, post: saving the world and making all of Donald's bogus promises a reality).

The problem is we have an overcompensating mental midget as president, a quarter of the nation is concerned about the outcome of having such a featherweight leader, a quarter is in denial about it, and half just don't give a s**t hence the reason they didn't vote at all. And so here we are stuck in a three-ring circus that will occasionally flash shiny lights to distract from the fact nothing will get done, and the show is already boring, and yet we have 3 and half more years before the curtains close, the doors open, and we can finally exit the tent-top to the pleasant fresh air of normalcy and forward progress.

She's 28 yrs old! barely a few years out of college internship - hardly qualifies, but don't take it from me, his own party are not on the same page with him

Perhaps all this "outsider" talk has been taken too far?

I think the outsider talk was taken too far at the very beginning.
