Hmm, both the seventh and nineth episodes but not the eighth. I wonder how they will be different?

Hopefully it'll work out as well as before. Just as long as this trilogy isn't a remake of the original trilogy, as The Force Awakens had been.

Well, we can look forward to another shiny but vacuous film, then. I won't complain, though: as long as he's busy ruining Star Wars he can't keep ruining Star Trek. ;) (To be fair I enjoyed TFA...and then promptly forgot it as soon as I left the theater. In my experience that pretty well sums up everything JJ makes: enjoyable to watch but extremely forgettable. I enjoyed Rogue One slightly more: it was sorely lacking in a coherent plot and Jyn Erso was a horrible main character--and whoever thought CGI Tarkin was a good idea should be fired--but Director Krennic was easily the best villain in any of the films and I loved Chirrut Imwe [largely thanks to Donnie Yen's excellent acting].)

If I was going to pick a 'Star Trek' director to helm SW Episode IX, I'd have picked Nicholas Meyer ('Wrath of Khan').
