People, especially adults, just don't go around hurling insults in your face. It's just not done.

Are you confrontational towards people in general? Do you believe in always "telling the truth" as you see it, even if you know it would offend that person?

Most people really don't have time to "hate" someone just for the sake of "hating" someone.

This sounds like a real possibility. "1984" featured solidarity through hate, and scapegoats are not rare in history. My ex had been abused, and was basically out to get her revenge on anyone who triggered her memories, which was easy to do with even a clothing selection. Of course, she wouldn't dump on anyone who was actually dangerous.

Yes.

It's easy to become a scapegoat.

My advice is to just avoid people altogether.
