understanding alterity

This is a sort of weird and difficult to explain thing. although in theory I can understand that other people exist and they are independent from me and whole persons as I am, I sometimes just get confused by it, a bit like getting amazed by "discovering" this sort of thing again and again. OK. I'm not sure if I made myself clear.


I know other people exist, but sometimes I get surprised they actually exist? Does someone can understand it and feels something similar?


I think I have this with other things in life, like more of those very simple concepts everyone seems to be super aware of them. I just can't remember other examples now.
