Speaking of "unpleasant" many on the republican side thought Michelle Obama and her children were fair game, no outrage there huh...Michelle Obama was actually a competent and intelligent role model who addressed "real issues" as first lady but was caricatured by conservatives for her apparent "non-glamorous appearance"...Melania is a goldidgger with no substance who is praised because of her looks...the contrast is quite stark


It's seems more like a vitrolic obsession with only the POTUS and his family, rather than the general lampooning of those in public office. I virtually never see them post anything about their own political figures or even the royal family.

Because whatever news outlets said the first lady was dressed like a clown are ones I don't want to bother reading. Or ones that lie about her wearing high heels while visiting hurricane victims, when in truth she was wearing trainers.

But it's all just about vitrolic smearing isn't it?

With essentially the disclaimer of "just stooping to the level those who made vitroic smears against the former first lady, so that justifies it".

Those look more like tabloid type publications to me. But I will confess that I'm very demanding when it comes to news sources. Along with fake news there's simply crap news.

But at least you're not posting TYT videos.

You seem to imply that all news souces that say anyting about Melania Trump are all on the same level. Whereas I see a difference in what's being said and how it's being presented.

But hey, it's so fun to trash. So along with gold digger can she be called a slut too? (It's okay, she's a rich white conservative, so misogyny doesn't apply *wink wink*)

Michelle Obama was very well liked by the Queen of England. Trust me, she had excellent fashion sense. She came across as elegant and well-informed.

It doesn't matter to me if Melania Trump is a gold-digger--big deal! That's Trump's problem, not mine. She seems okay. She can dress how she wants in hurricane-ravaged areas---as long as she doesn't say "Let them eat cake" or something.

I don't know whether she's a gold-digger or not----and I really don't care.

Like I said, she seems okay to me.

Come to think of it, she might not be. She did fairly well as a model before she met Trump. I'm thinking she's into the alleged "power" aspect of the man.

I really don't get the huge amount of coverage and attention given by media to such issues as what kind of shoes someone wears or the the size of someone's hands etc.

You know my dad has small hands and he was really self conscious about it when he was younger. Ironically he also has size 13 extra wide feet. Which I seem to have inherited. A coordination disorder and big floppy feet are a bad combination.

I have small hands, and I wear a size 8 shoe.

Yep....people do like to focus on what people wear and on their physical looks.

My point is "all" major news sources except perhaps the Murdoch press and conservative rags have done articles that are not flattering to the first lady. She has the opportunity now to do constructive things (for example with charities) but I'll have seen so far indicate she is playing a typical trophy wife (much like a handbag for Trump). All indications are that she shares similar narcissistic traits to her husband. I used to dislike Ronald Reagan (as did most people) but always thought Nancy Reagan (despite her strange beliefs) was a decent person at heart. It's not all about smearing the GOP, I'm just presenting the obvious profile that Melania Trump doesn't seem too concerned to hide.
