I am naturally right handed but I like to give myself a challenge everyday and use my non dominant hand.

Is using my left/non dominant hand bad for my brain? :?

When I was four years old I tried to write left handed. My precious lil "parents" had the nerve to make me switch to right

When I was 13 I started practicing writing left handed

And freestyle swim breathe both sides

And et cetera

You would think it's good for your brain

More variety

But I doubt studies have been done about it

And if there were I cant name one

And you have to be specific about bad for the brain in what way

Some articles claim that babies naturally. Are ambidextrous and not til they get older is it naturally an advantage to have a dominant hand

Hi, I know I'm late. Sorry. I just fell over this one.

I don't think it's bad for the brain. If anything it improves fine motor skills, and not too much more.
The only bad thing that can happen when you start using your other hand (as for me when I did it, and for others I know) is that you start confusing left and right. Especially if you already had troubles with those, it can get really confusing.

I hear lefties tend to be more creative people than righties & creative types tend to be more prone to mental illness. I do not think using a nondominate hand would make someone more susceptible to mental illness but I do think that being a natural leftie might also mean that the person is more likely to have a mental illness.

It’s good for your brain, actually.
