"That's great, it starts with an earthquake
Birds and snakes, an aeroplane, Lenny Bruce is not afraid
Eye of a hurricane, listen to yourself churn
World serves its own needs, don't misserve your own needs

Feed it up a knock, speed, grunt, no, strength, no
Ladder, structure clatter with fear of height, down height
Wire in a fire, represent the seven games
In a government for hire and a combat site

Left her, wasn't coming in a hurry with the furies
Breathing down your neck
Team by team, reporters baffled, trump, tethered crop
Look at that low plane, fine then

Uh oh, overflow, population, common group
But it'll do, save yourself, serve yourself
World serves its own needs, listen to your heart bleed
Tell me with the rapture and the reverent in the right, right
You vitriolic, patriotic, slam, fight, bright light
Feeling pretty psyched

It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it
And I feel fine

Six o'clock, TV hour, don't get caught in foreign tower
Slash and burn, return, listen to yourself churn
Lock him in uniform and book burning, blood letting
Every motive escalate, automotive incinerate

Light a candle, light a motive, step down, step down
Watch a heel crush, crush, uh oh, this means no fear
Cavalier, renegade and steer clear
A tournament, a tournament, a tournament of lies
Offer me solutions, offer me alternatives and I decline

It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it
And I feel fine, I feel fine

It's the end of the world as we know it (it's time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it (it's time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it (it's time I had some time alone)
And I feel fine

The other night I tripped a nice continental drift divide
Mount St. Edelite, Leonard Bernstein
Leonid Breshnev, Lenny Bruce and Lester Bangs
Birthday party, cheesecake, jelly bean, boom
You symbiotic, patriotic, slam but neck, right? Right

It's the end of the world as we know it (it's time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it (it's time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it (it's time I had some time alone)

I was NOT making fun of Joe90 in my posts.

I was having fun with kraftie when he said he once thought perhaps when he's asleep the world has stopped and then starts again when he wakes.

DIFFERENT thing. We went of-topic -- not making fun of the original question.

JEEEEEEZ.

It's OK, I just misunderstood the first two replies in the thread, but after I read one a few posts down I knew I had misinterpreted the first two replies, and you did nothing wrong. So it's cool. :) 8)

You weren't making fun of my posts anyway, don't know where you got that idea from.. :? :D

I am worrying about this. I HATE Kim Jong Un. I don't know what he thinks he's going to win if he wants to start a nuclear war which will kill us all. If he does want to die then why don't he just shoot himself right now?
I've read up about nuclear bombs, and it always says that it won't kill the whole world in one blow, but the radiation from it will kill everyone slowly and painfully. That is the scariest thing ever. I hate that maniac. I want him hung.

I've noticed you have a habit of focusing on things that are outside of your control. Kim Jong Un is one of these things. Try to focus on things in your control, fix them if necessary, and you'll feel a whole lot less anxiety. If the world ends next week, there's not a thing you or I can do about it, so don't even think about it.

Maybe you should take into account the fact that such a maniac has been there doing what he does for a long time and we never felt so threatened by him, despite he coming across to all of us as a very dangerous person to deal with. He seems more threatening now because there is a new lunatic in the other end wanting to engage in a piss contest. From all accounts, the man in the other end really enjoys a piss contest.

“trump” is those lyrics, right after “reporters baffled” :)

I heard people talking about the world is coming to an end next week, then I read an article online saying about all these changes that's going to happen to Earth. I read something like the plague will return, and winters in the UK will be longer, and there are lots of earthquakes coming. Is this all true??

None of it is true.

There are people who propagate those stories on the Internet. You can't believe everything on the Internet.

Always check for the credentials of the people making the claims.

About the alleged impending asteroid-collision, you'll notice that, though they mention NASA, there's nothing on the web from NASA, or from any astronomer, physicist, or any scientist.

That's what to look for, and what to judge those stories by.

So those scare-stories are all B_llSh_t.

Well, one part of it is true:

There will be more and more powerful and destructive hurricanes, crop-failures, species-extinctions, due to global-warming caused by our emission of greenhouse gases. (Mostly CO2, but also methane (partly from meat-farming) and spray-can propellant gases like Freon), and flooding of coastal-plains (where many or most of our important cities are), due to polar ice-cap melting.

Those thing could soon make much of the Earth uninhabitable, and threatens the survival of humanity.

So that one is true.

In the late 1970s, some preacher predicted that Jesus was going to come again on some particular date. Of course, it didn't happen. Or maybe he did and nobody noticed.

So he recalculated and decided he got it a year off and so he announced a new date for the second coming and the end of the world.

Shortly afterwards, I started work at a company and replaced someone who was a member of that church and took the prediction very seriously. I was told that he made sure everyone else was aware that the world was ending as well.

His boss called him into his office one Monday morning and asked him if he was absolutely sure that the world was going to end on that particular date and he vigorously replied that it indeed would end then. So his boss told him that he had bought a sailboat over the weekend and arranged it so that his payments would not begin until after the date for the end of the world and that if he had to make any payments on the boat, he would blame the employee. The guy got so mad that he found another job and quit.

Wonder why he was still going to work with the world coming to an end. He must have really liked that job lol.

There was a big buzz about the world ending on a certain date. My peers were, panicked, taking it seriously. I was in Jr. High schooland and it was 1971. I am still here, unless unbenowst to me I was secretly transferred back to Autistica.
