Would it help if I drew you a picture?

Actually for me it would. My perception is primarily visual and I understand things much better with illustrations to go with a written description. Often when reading journal articles I will draw out in picture form what I'm reading, then reread the text, and I get it much better. Any other Aspies agree with this?

I have never done a drawing to help visualize a scene, but I often sketch to clarify my ideas for gadgets, and I seemed to take to drafting like a native language. My apprentice, OTOH, will try to draw a sketch, but his perspective varies for each part that he draws, and he can't draw parallel lines freehand.

Like the OP it does help me to "draw a picture".

I often draw crude little maps to remember driving directions rather than copy the list of directions. A map is better than a recipe so to speak, for me anyway.

I think I definitely learn better with visuals, charts, etc. than with written information. I also suck at learning things that are said to me, so it is always better to have a visual/picture, IMO :D .

Sometimes, the visual helps me....but not usually.

My drawings usually are of little help in explaining things.

I took it as just visuals/drawings by other people or in general  . I can't draw to save my life, but I try!

YES.

That means I won't have to take time to draw the picture, either in my head or actually on paper.
