White nationalist protesters have returned to Charlottesville, Virginia, less than two months after one person died when a car ploughed into a group of anti-racism protesters at a similar white supremacist rally.

"Come in peace???" They know that their mere presence as a hate group is meant to intimidate, even if all of them are silent, peace has never been their objective, leopards and spots...

Counter protesters should harry them everywhere they go, and drive them back into their holes.

Also they want to demonstrate, I think, that Trump's silence = consent to their activities, and want this to encourage others. Signalling to the far right base.

When Donald's Trump's father was wearing white robes and marching with the Klu Klux Klan in a mass rally back in 1927 he would never have guessed that his son would eventually become president of the US. His father was a massive influence on him so it stands to reason he has also absorbed at least some of his fathers Nazi values.

At the very least Trump probably sees white supremacists echoing his own father's right to march and express his racist views (very probably) explains why he turns a blind eye to their shenanigans and never has a bad word to say about the ultra-right.

It was the NY Times who broke the story of Fred Trump's arrest at a KKK rally in the 1920s or thereabouts. Possibly this is the basis of that resentment that drives Trump's attacks on that newspaper in our time. (Fred Trump arrested? Fake news!! DT denied it to an interviewer at least once).

Yes infact Trump Snr was arrested wearing his robes after getting into a fight and his name address published in the paper which (for the Trump apologists) is irrefutable evidence it was him.

The Klan was massive in the north during the 1920's with marches involving thousands upon thousands common. Northern politicians and policemen were openly KKK. There were cross burnings in my Long Island village.

I accept the values of the time shouldn't really be surprising. I also accept Trump Snr was a man of his times. However unlike other prominent racists he rose to become a prominent real estate mogul and there is no evidence he ever gave up his cherished values and (if anything) Donald Trump followed his father like an apprentice so must have absorbed at least some of his values

The entitled, clean-cut, polo-wearing, torch-bearing racists chanting about how they won't be replaced? Those are the people who put him into office. They're his people. And they know he's their leader because they know Donald Trump is, like they are, racist.
