"Crimplene."

It was a polyester that became popular for ladies dresses in the 60s. I had a little crimplene dress in turquoise blue to attend my grandparents' 50th wedding anniversary.

That stuff was kind of nasty though.

Kids such as me riding bicycles without helmets.

Boys being injured "roughhousing" was considered normal.

Parents pretty much always believed the teacher, the doctor, the cop not you.

"Tattle Telling" on neighbors was verboten even if you heard screaming, yelling and things breaking because "it was none of your business".
