Oddly beautiful mountains with no trees on them.

1. The lost opportunity to gain independence (2014).

2. The strange desire to exchange a ruler just 332 miles (534 km) away for a different ruler 469 miles (755 km) away (2018/2019).

3. My ancestors (including Alexander II) and relatives (including Wallace and the Bruces) among others who would be shaking their heads in disgust at the antics of their descendants.

That is my most favourite drink in the whole wide world.

But it wasn't the first thing that came to mind.

In fact nothing came to mind because my mind goes blank when put under pressure.

Nova Scotia, where I live.

Bagpipes

Kilts

The highlands.

Haggis. :eew:

Scotch :hic:

Butterscotch. :)

Scotch broth soup

Scotch tape?

That game in the Olympics where people lift up a log about the size of a short telephone pole, carry it vertically, and then they throw it. 8O

Golf.

Tams

Alexander Graham Bell :)

Shakespeare's play "Macbeth", or "The Scottish Play" as superstitious people have called because they think there's a curse that will cause misfortune if anyone says the actual name.

The *real* King Macbeth (who didn't really commit all those horrific murders in real life)

Stereotypes like being incredibly stingy with money, always having flaming red hair, drinking a lot, and the men always wearing kilts when they really wear pants most of the time now. And living as a janitor on the grounds of an elementary school in a shack with a sign that says "Keep oot!"

Loch Ness, and its legendary monster.

The Three Lives of Thomasina-a story about a girl and her cat, which was set in Scotland.
