Do women experience the same amount of hair loss as men do but they can 'hide it better with wigs and hair extensions? Since its much more frowned on for a woman too be bald.

No.
Some women wouldn't bother to use wigs etc., so it would be visible every now and then, like, say, body hair.
I think balding has something to do with hormones.
I found out many women's hair improve during pregnancy (reversibly).

This question is related too hair types and baldness.

would a male with thick long hair and a middle parting in his late teens....even with that type of hair could he go through male pattern baldness in his 30s or 40s?

Google photos of tom cruise with long hair too see the hair type I am reffering too.

I'm not a specialist on male hair loss patterns.
Most of my friends show slight to moderate balding in their 30s - but not all.

My theory is that men don't go too the doctors as much as women too check for medical conditions that might cause thinning hair.

Am I correct in my theory?

I don't think so.
Neither men nor women I know are likely to see doctors about hair loss.
What I found about it:

The female pattern seems to be a bit easier to mask with a right hairstyle.

The reason alot of men(including me) experience hair loss is because of a genetic sensitivity to DHT which is a kind of a byproduct of testosterone. Women can lose hair because of that too but it will be a lot less usually because women are supposed to have less testosterone. If a women experiences hair loss that bad there usually is an underlying cause like stress or hormone imbalances.

In general, hair loss in women is "worse" in women than it is in men from the perspective of "society." This is because going bald is considered somewhat "nomal"--but is unusual in women.

Still, like men, women can look good totally bald.

Absolutely no women hair loss and men hair loss are both are different cases. Men hair loss starts from frontal area of head to crown area of head. In case of men hair loss is start from receding hair lines from frontal area of head. This pattern is usually known as (MPB) or male pattern of baldness. MPB has 7 stages.

On the other side women faces hair loss due to thinning hair. Usually women are suffering from Alopecia.
