Hello,

Does anyone else have this feeling of, well, not liking to eat? I just eat for survival, but for the past year, with on/off depression and illness, I've been eating very little.

If you don't like to eat, what's your solution, if you found any? Sure, I like some foods, but I find myself being unable to eat a big meal and I find myself just not wanting to eat.

Please share your experiences!

Regards,
Jared

I don't like eating. I was a skinny no-eater as a child. In my teens and early twenties I often forgot to eat until I was dizzy of low sugar. Later, I learned having regular meals as a routine. It is helpful for keeping my body strong. I prefer not to think about food when I don't need to.
At home, my husband does the cooking, he is way better in it and enjoys good meals. We compared our expiriences and concluded that I am probably over-sensitive to taste. Sweet things are too sweet, vegetables are often bitter, I sense bitterness in many sweeteners, the food is often too salty, too greasy, etc. The effect increases when I am generally over-stimulated, e.g. after dealing with a social gathering.

I wouldn't say I dislike eating, but some days it can feel like a chore getting in enough calories to maintain my weight..
Also some days I forget to eat, and then I have to eat large meals later in the day to compensate.

"Forget to eat" "some days"?

How is that possible?

Almost never do I forget to eat. And a few hours at most

What are you doing when you forget to eat?

Usually I eat way too much

I find it helps to cook my own food.

You just focus on something else until your body reminds you it's lacking something clearly enough.
I don't think one could learn to forget to eat. I couldn't learn to sleep less, or less regularily, while my friend can stay awake for 72 hours and then sleep for 36. It's personal.

I used to eat one big meal as a kid until I moved in with my girlfriend at 29 due to being a very picky eater & not being able to get the food I wanted more than 1ce a day. When I was suffering from a bad depression I had to force myself to eat because I wasn't hungry, I was obsessed with other things or I felt anxious. I threw more than half my big meal away some days.
I eat 3 meals a day nowadays because of meds & supplements I'm on. I've always binged when food I wanted is available except when I was depressed & I still binge so I've gained alot of weight.

Sometimes when I feel bad I eat too much. Sometimes not enough

Sometimes even thinking about bad things that occurred over 10 years ago and 500 miles away make me wAnt to gorge

Binge

It's gotten to the point where I drink five or six liter water a day.

That way the thought of binging is not that appetizing

A lot of times I don't feel like eating or want to eat. I also forget to eat a lot and realize it only when my blood sugar stops. Other times I remember to eat, but can't decide what to eat. It's become quite problematic :(

Last night, I ate the standard amount

Then someone brought back Chinese restaurant leftovers:. Pork, fried rice, tofu

Ate all the tofu

Two servings

Did not eat quickly

Enjoyed it

Greasy, delicious

Loved
It

Just ate too much

Like out of control

Every time that happens I tell myself that that is the last time

It is never the last time.......

Why couldn't the tofu wait til the morning?

Now I have been on the toilet for half hour and still no accomplishment

No success

Just failure

At least, in things that matter........

I can't do the slightest thing correctly

I have no right, precious lil "friends"

:D

I wish I could learn how to not like eating

Save $$, emotional turmoil. More healthful

Yesterday I drank six liter water

Walked 12 miles

Nothing I do is good.
enough

Its not uncommon for me to forget to eat if I am alone. Usually my wife cooks the food for my family, but if its up to me I am just as content with a simple sandwich if I have to eat something. If its there, I eat, if its not, then I just kind of don't care.

when i was about 18, i cooked pancakes, bread, scones, and a couple similar dishes.

when i was about 21, fried taro roots, made eggplant parmesan. about once each.

a couple years ago, one time, cooked noodles (not Ramen) with vegetables.

but since then, the only thing that i have cooked is potstickers. potstickers, potstickers, potstickers. almost every day.

but when i am the only one eating, then i usually just eat whatever ingredients are in the fridge. naan, granola, yogurt, fruit. for dinner. not perfectly nutritious or hot. but potstickers are not that great either.

even in the past year, my tastes have changed. for about 9 years, ate clif bars weekly. after that, 2 per day. then just one day while eating them they tasted sweet. all of a sudden. 21 grams of sugar each. yikes

Not sure. Sometimes time will fly by and I come to realize I forgot to eat a meal, or I just don't feel an appetite. Eating is good at times, sure, but for the most part, it feels like a chore as some have said.

Hm, wonder what I can do to want to eat more. I definitely have problems eating when I'm anxious, which this week has been rough in that regard; but, maybe it's a lack of activity. Hmm.

Jared

Sometimes anxiety makes me want to gorge

Sometimes I get hungry and do not feel in the mood to eat

But far more often I want to eat when I do not feel hungry

Actually my stomach almost never growls

Instead sometimes I feel like low blood sugar

When I eat the slightest thing I feel bloated

In my opinion, you should consult your medical doctor explain all of your symptoms and have a complete medical checkup done on you.after that doctor suggest you proper health products to eat.
