Combating unforgiveness towards people who reject us

Like most of you in here, I have faced rejection and I was again nearly 4 years ago. During that time I have been feeling bitter and angry towards this person. Recently I found some healthy tactics that can help let go of a hurt.
1. Every time I am haunted by and get mad at this latest rejection, I start saying the names of all the people who are in my life now
2. I have learned to start talking about all the positive experiences that I have had with other people recently.
3. I used mindfulness and guided meditation whenever I start feeling unwanted by this former friend and the others in their life.
