I have an employee who is doing a terrible mess of her job. The problem is she thinks she is doing a great job and helping everyone. Is there a good way to talk to her? Distorted self-perception in anyone causes major communication problems.

It's difficult. I feel this all the time which is why I have to work on my own and can't work with others as it causes arguments. But I have learnt, there is a huge difference to our expectations of ourselves and others and the actual employers expectations. I would try and take yourself away from the person as it will really frustrate you.

What is she meant to be doing that she's not doing?

Do you not have performance reviews at your place of work?
