I haven't been able to find much about this through my searches online, so I thought I'd ask here. Both of my kneecaps are really loose - they'll move upwards or inwards (towards my other leg) pretty far. I've always had this - and it's in both knees - so I guess it's not from some forgotten injury. It causes me no pain, although it makes my knees look kind of weird. My knees do have a tendency to buckle beneath me if I'm careless about how I ease my weight around, and I've dislocated my knee before (but it pops back in just as easily). I've read about surgeries, braces, and physical therapy for loose kneecaps, but how serious does the problem have to be before those measures are taken?
