my copy and paste is wonky

i have tried several times to copy and paste a link. every time i try to paste, a link i pasted previously appears rather than the one i just copied or tried to copy. is there an easy fix for this? control v also pastes the old link.

all i had to do to fix this was close and re-open chrome.
