I most definitely am. I put on a clean t shirt yesterday evening after a shower and soon there were several marks where I had had a pot noodle. Now I've just had an orange and of course some of the juice has gone on my t shirt . Years ago when little my granddaughters would say I needed to wear one of those pelican bibs.

I get food on myself nearly every time I eat anything. I often will put a napkin over my shirt to prevent myself from getting my clothes dirty, but that doesn't always work

I'm not sure... I might be a little messier than an average woman my age because I'm clumsy, but not enough for people to constantly point it out or anything. I'm definitely a slow eater, though.

If it's something like barbecue ribs, I can be quite messy.

If it's just pasta and steak, though, I can keep most of it off my clothes.

Not messy, just very slow like someone else said

I need a bib and usually wear one. They make adult bibs with a velcro neck strap, you should get some and save your shirts.

As a child, I always made a big deal about needing to eat with a large tablespoon.
It was easier than maneuvering with a fork and knife.

Now I can eat with chopsticks ...
it drives one of my NT friends crazy.
Am not sure if it's because she doesn't know how to use chopsticks at all,
or if it's because I'm not perfect with chopsticks.

Am I messy? Sometimes.
I've learned not to wear white
when I'm going to eat spaghetti.

I can only partially use chopsticks; I'm just that clumsy...

I don't think I'm particularly messy, but I do seem to be fast. If I'm eating with other people, I'm almost always the first one done, even when I try to eat slowly.

Thing is, you and I are bold and daring enough to use chopsticks at all.
Most NTs who are not Asian are too socially self-conscious and afraid to even try.
So we're better than them at it.

And I've heard it said that when you use chopsticks,
whatever works to get the food in your mouth counts as success.
Including shoving a rice bowl up to your mouth to make it easier.

My mom has said that maybe I should have been born a Japanese
because I love rice so much. :)

I wouldn't call myself messy, but I do often end up with a drop of something from my shirt from my meal a few times a week. I don't know how many times I've had to walk around with a wet spot on my shirt from the spot I just cleaned up.

I'm not a messy eater, quite the opposite.
Can't quite understand how you get food on yourself.
Do you sit at a table to eat?

My hand slips.
My fingers fumble around.
Next thing you know, the silverware is on the floor
and the food or drink has spilled on my shirt or pants.

Then there was the time I was trying to open a lobster claw in a restaurant.
The claw ended up flying through the air and nearly hit my brother-in-law in the head. :ninja:

Even napkins fall to the floor, don't ask me how.
Doesn't happen all the time, so ...
Don't wear a bib because I live dangerously
unless it's a lobster bib! :)

Plenty of times, someone had the nerve to tell me that they did not like the way that I was eating

"What, they don't have food in  your country  "

"You eat like a pig"

"Next time bring a fork"

They acted so innocent and arrogant.

They were judgmental, and talk too much and too loud

They acted like it was a moral crime for anyone to do the slightest thing that they did not like

They were annoying

They don't know tolerance, compromise, perspective, modesty

They don't know how to shut their precious lil traps

They have big egos

Some precious lil "people" :D almost  never stop flapping their trap

Your post just reminded me of a NT friend I had when I was younger. I could not stand to sit and watch her eating. It made me cringe. For one the noise was horrendous. The finger licking and sucking also grossed me out. She would literally shovel the food into her mouth. I've honestly never seen anything like it. Totally forgot about it til I saw your post ha. I never dared commented to her about it though. I just had to squirm a lot and grit my teeth
