They acted so innocent and arrogant.

They were judgmental, and talk too much and too loud

They were annoying

They don't know tolerance, compromise, perspective, modesty

They have big egos

Some precious lil "people" :D almost  never stop flapping their trap

Your post just reminded me of a NT friend I had when I was younger. I could not stand to sit and watch her eating. It made me cringe. For one the noise was horrendous. The finger licking and sucking also grossed me out. She would literally shovel the food into her mouth. I've honestly never seen anything like it. Totally forgot about it til I saw your post ha. I never dared commented to her about it though. I just had to squirm a lot and grit my teeth

Yep. So I change to shirts where spilling won't be easy to spot before eating. I also tend to get sticky fingers from food "everyone" seems to think you can't get sticky from eating.

I rarely get food on my face, let alone my shirt.

I am not a messy eater, in fact I hate having food on my hands or my face. According to my mom, I refused to feed myself as an infant until I learned to use utensils so I've always hated touching food. When I was growing up my mom used to watch people's kids for a living and she used to make us all eat lunch together at the table. Watching, and even worse, hearing those kids eat made me physically nauseous. I would sit at the table gagging and unable to eat. Eventually my mom just let me eat in my room thankfully. I'm a little better as an adult, I can eat certain things with my fingers, but I tend to do it very daintily and I use a napkin after every bite.

I also never use spoons unless I'm eating something liquid, I like forks and chopsticks are even better. For some reason I just can't stand the sensation of dragging my lips across a utensil and feeling all the tiny, leftover little food bits on them. That's why chopsticks are the best, because you can just place the food in your mouth without having to scrape it off anything with your mouth!

I am pretty clumsy though, and sometimes my hands shake so I do spill on my shirt occasionally, but I got to great lengths to prevent it.

I'm a very messy eater. I'm not good at using a knife and fork, and I often end up getting food on the table - and sometimes even the floor! 8O
And if ever I'm eating something with a lot of sauce or gravy, I'm very likely to get some on my clothes.

I believe this is more of a coordination issue than an autism issue.
A lot of people with autism also have developmental coordination disorder.
But many others don't have coordination problems at all because they don't also have DCD or similar.

Well, I'm coordinated enough that I can dance and enjoy it.
But when it comes to fine motor skills with my hands,
forget about it.

I can't sew by hand although I've tried and really wish I could, my painting style is loose and abstract rather than fine-detailed representational realism, I have trouble signing my paintings so I just use my initials and even that is hard to do without messing up the painting, and yeah, I drop silverware.

I had thought it was related to autism ... I could be wrong.

Eating gives me enormous pleasure.
I will only buy the best quality.
Then I will savour every mouthful by eating respectfully.
People sometimes comment on how daintily I eat.
Food is like a special interest for me, though.

Sometimes, I guess. It depends on the type of food. For example I can't seem to eat rice with a fork without getting it everywhere. Makes me wonder how people in Asia can use chopsticks to eat it. It's not my fault there are so many foods that crumble, fall apart, or leave sprinkles of sugar everywhere when you bite into them.

Yep.
And fondle the stem of my wineglass.
Wish eating wasn't so orgasmic. :P

I don't think I'm any messier than the average person. My NT mom gets food on herself more often than I do (granted, that's in part due to the fact that I can't stand most condiments like ketchup or mayonnaise, but she likes them). I also lean forward when I eat, so any mess I make usually ends up on the table instead of on me.

I do that, but it's mostly because my pinky fingers are exceptionally short - they barely come halfway up the second joint of my ring fingers.

All my eating actions are precisely thought out.
Like, I have worked out the most elegant way to eat each food.
I only tried tacos for the first time recently because I could not conceive how to eat them neatly.
I know I still can't eat them neatly, so I don't eat them.

You remind me of Patrick Stewart.
He made headlines a year or so ago for * gasp * ... eating pizza! 8O
Turns out he actually had eaten pizza before,
but never before without a knife and fork! 8)

As for the tacos, you're missing out.
And, it sounds like you'll never eat the Buffalo, NY delicacy known as beef on weck.
You see, the sandwich is no good unless,
when you lift it to your mouth,
it's dripping with gravy that
oozes from your fingertips all the way down to your elbows ...
