in a kakistocracy such as ours, sociopaths tend to accumulate at the top. sociopaths tend to be killing enthusiasts, of anything weaker than they, and sometimes stronger things as well. that's about as good as we amuuricans can do, put these sorts of moral cretins in power and then crow about it like a grand accomplishment. so whatever evils coming forth from that crowd, nothing is really a surprise. depressing, however.

The origin of national parks wasn't due to some "dewy eyed" conservationist, in Feudal Europe the kings kept aside forest for their own personal hunting and ensured it remained "pristine" to allow game animals to breed unfettered

In the UK the story of Robin Hood being a bandit in Sherwood forest is based on people pilfering deer from King John's hunting grounds in Sherwood, the rest of course is fiction

Fast forward to 2017 and the Royals have their traditional estates in Scotland which are purely for recreational hunting of deer and game birds. It's only in the last 50 years the aristocracy in Britain have been preventing from hunting foxes

Fox hunting was banned under Blair and the toffs acted like they were some persecuted minority because of this. They still however continue to hunt foxed because they claim they are engaged in drag hunts and they know they are connected enough that their will be no punishment for them.

Gotta wonder when one of them reads The Most Dangerous Game, and figures it's a good idea.

that is precisely what those people are about, if given half a chance. there is no limit to their potential depravity.

The Roman aristocracy hunted captured slaves for fun. No doubt that's the next level up if the Trump boys get bored with killing endangered animals

some of the younger posters here have not been around long enough to have personally experienced/witnessed the depraved depths of human nature.

I'm hoping he eliminates the ban on polar bear furs.

I had a wealthy neighbor growing up and we would visit them on occasion. One of the greatest things was their polar bear rug. It was so soft that I really liked just sitting there on it.
